10 Miners Found Dead After Blast in Shanxi Province
The bodies of ten miners were discovered Wednesday afternoon after a fierce gas explosion in a coal mine in north China's Shanxi Province Tuesday morning.

The rescue work started immediately and is still underway. Sources from the local government confirmed that 25 miners were trapped underground when the blast occurred.

The blast destroyed the air shaft, which caused further difficulties in the rescue work.

The explosion happened at around 7:00 a.m. Tuesday at an unlicensed mine named Yongtai, in Anze County of Linfen City, according to government information.

The mine owner is in the custody of local police.
