Rainstorm Alarm on Huaihe River Valley
The China Central Meteorological Station (CMS) released a storm warning for the Huaihe River valley Friday morning.

The alarm warned of heavy to torrential rainstorms to hit the valley on Friday and Saturday, and flooding of the swollen Huaihe River would remain severe.

The affected areas include the southern part of central China's Henan Province, and the central and northern parts of east China's Anhui and Jiangsu provinces. Some of the areas can expect thunderstorms or hurricanes, according to the CMS.

Meteorologists hold that the rainy weather is caused by the interaction between strong, warm air and cold air currents.

Local departments are advised to make full preparation for flood control in the areas.
