Food Poisoning Hits Over 100 People
More than 100 employees fell ill from food poisoning since July 5 after eating lunches in Suzhou City, in east China's Jiangsu Province.

The victims began to experience diarrhea, vomiting and stomachache after eating food contained in lunch boxes on the morning of July 5.

Some of the victims are still in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Suzhou University but none were in serious danger, said an emergency department doctor.

A female victim said she began suffering after eating food supplied by a fast food restaurant.

All 100 beds were occupied, with another 12 patients waiting for treatment, said a nurse.

The restaurant had reportedly exceeded supply license of 2,000 lunch boxes, offering for sale 3,000 boxes.

City authorities have closed the food poisoning site and carried out sample checks.

An investigation by the health authority is also in progress.
