School Named After Nation's First Astronaut

A senior high school named after Yang Liwei, who last year became China's first astronaut, has opened in Yang's hometown Suizhong county, northeast China's Liaoning Province.

More than 1,700 teachers and students of the No. 2 Senior High School of Suizhong County Thursday attended a ceremony marking the change of the school's name to Liwei Senior High School of Suizhong County.

Yang attended the school and graduated in 1983 to join the air force.
