Overseas Chinese Condemn Chen's 'Taiwan Independence'

More overseas Chinese societies are strongly condemning Taiwan Leader Chen Shui-bian for his attempts to seek independence for Taiwan.

Overseas Chinese communities in South Korea have issued a joint declaration, expressing strong opposition to "Taiwan independence" by the so-called "defensive referendum". They also urge all Chinese people to make concerted efforts to strive for the reunification of China.

Chinese people in Greece have held a forum, accusing Chen Shui-bian of trampling on the aspirations of Taiwan people and the will of all Chinese people around the world.

The Overseas Chinese Association for the Promotion of the Peaceful Reunification of China in Portugal has issued a statement, firmly opposing the Taiwan authority's efforts to find a legal route towards independence by holding a referendum.
