Eleven Missing in Chongqing Landslide

Eleven people were missing after a landslide took place in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality at Thursday noon.

The landslide buried three houses at the foot of a hill in Ganchuan Town in Xiushan County, leaving eleven people missing, said Xiang Tao, secretary of Xiushan County Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The area was still under threat of further landslide and about 150 people will be evacuated, according to the rescue headquarters.

Villages in the area were once plagued by landslide in 1994, said Xiang Tao.
