A man divorced his wife and received 1 million yuan (US$121, 000) compensation from her after finding she had undergone plastic surgery before marrying him, the Heilongjiang Morning Post reported.

The man and the woman, divorced in Hegang, Heilongjiang Province, without going to court.

The man, 38, discovered that his wife had undergone plastic surgery only after she gave birth to a baby girl.

The woman said she underwent plastic surgery in South Korea in her 30s after she failed to find a husband because of her looks.

Her father, a businessman, gave her 1 million yuan for the surgery, she said.

The man asked for the divorce, saying he had been deceived. The woman had signed the divorce agreement, said the report.

The woman also gave up the family assets and offered the man 1 million yuan in compensation.

The woman returned to Qingdao City with the baby to live with her father, said the report.
