Northeastern Province Becomes Large Software Exporter
Northeast China's Liaoning Province exported US$70 million worth of software products last year, accounting for one fifth of the country's total, customs figures reveal.

Most of the software products were produced in Shenyang, capital of the province, and the port city of Dalian.

There are about 100 software companies and 15,000 software developers in Shenyang, excluding 300 companies with nearly 10,000 employees providing logistic support for the software companies.

Dalian has invested 1.5 billion yuan (about US$200 million) in infrastructure projects for its software industrial park, which is now home to about 20 investment projects, involving Panasonic, Hitachi, Mitsubishi.

China has been encouraging investment in software development, and has 10 software industrial parks across the country.
