China Welcomes Restoration of Palestine-Israel Cease-fire: FM Spokesman

Zhu Bangzao, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, said Wednesday that China welcomes the restoration of cease-fire between Palestine and Israel.

Zhu said that the cease-fire is an active step made by Palestine and Israel to ease the tension in the Middle East. China hopes that both sides will fulfill the commitment to cease-fire and resume peace talks as soon as possible.

Recently, the Palestinian National Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat declared a cease-fire which was followed by Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's order to cease military activities against Palestine.
