Chinese Vice President Arrives in Paris for Visit

Chinese Vice President Hu Jintao is now in Paris, as he continues his tour of France. Before his arrival, the Chinese leader had already visited the cities of Lyon and Bordeaux during his stay in the European country.

Hu Jintao is expected to meet with French President Jacques Chirac and Prime Minister Lionel Jospin, as well as various French Parliament leaders and leaders of different political parties.

In the southwest city of Bordeaux, Hu Jintao told Mayor Alain Juppe that China's opening up will create more favorable conditions and more promising opportunities for Frenchmen to develop joint activities in China.

France is the third-leg of Hu Jintao's five nation tour, which has already included stops in Russia and Britain. He will also visit Spain and Germany.
