13 Killed, 37 Injured in Kashmir Militant Attack

At least 13 people, including 10 army personnel and three civilians, were killed and 37 others injured when militants ambushed an army convoy and exchanged fire with security personnel near Ramban on Jammu and Kashmir Highway Sunday, police said at New Delhi.

Militants first lobbed a grenade and then fired on the army convoy at Mitra bridge around 2:30 p.m., police said.

The army personnel returned fire and in the exchange of fire, which lasted several hours, 10 security personnel were killed and 30 others injured.

At least 10 civilians were also injured in the cross firing, of whom three were hospitalized for injuries, according to the Press Trust of India.
