Chinese Vice Premier Meets Tunisian FM

Chinese Vice Premier Qian Qichen said Monday in Beijing China is ready to work with Tunisia to strengthen cooperation with Tunisia.

Qian, in a meeting with Tunisian Foreign Minster Habib Ben Yahia in Beijing, spoke highly of the frequent contacts between leaders of the two countries and the good cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic and cultural fields.

He said that China is willing to work with Tunisia to strengthen the cooperation within the bilateral and multilateral framework.

Habib Ben Yahia expressed satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation between Tunisia and China, and said that Tunisia attaches importance to the role China plays in the international arena and would like to enhance consultations with China.

He praised China for its achievements in the reform and opening-up drive, and said Tunisia hopes to expand trade and economic cooperation with China.

The two sides also exchanged views on combating terrorism and the relevant regional issues.
