Chinese Defense Minister Meets Thai Guests

China will continue exchanges with Thailand in all fields for the further development of friendly and cooperative ties, and for regional peace and stability.

Chinese Defense Minister Chi Haotian made the remark in at a meeting Wednesday with a delegation headed by Rocha Vipattipumiprates, chairman of the House Committee on Military Affairs of the Thai House of Representatives.

Chi said Thailand is one of China's closest regional partners, and the two countries have established all-round good-neighborly relations of friendship and cooperation.

Cooperation between defense organizations and the armed forces are of the two countries also fruitful, said Chi, who is also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission and a state councilor.

The defense minister also briefed the guests on China's view onthe international situation, its domestic situation and military building, and China's stance on the Taiwan issue.

Rocha Vipattipumiprates said Thailand and China cherish their deep friendship, and his country will stick to the one-China principle.

He expressed hope that the two nations would further consolidate cooperation in military affairs, and economic and cultural fields.
