150 Dead in Afghan Earthquake: AIP

Some 150 people were killed in northern Afghan province of Samangan by an intensive earthquake on Sunday, the Peshawar-based Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) reported on Monday.

Quoting a report by Radio Kabul, the news agency said around 400 houses were also destroyed by the massive earthquake in Khoram Sarbagh district of Samangan.

In Aybak, central city of Samangan, 500 houses collapsed in the earthquake while one person was killed, said AIP.
