Chinese Premier Arrives in Istanbul

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji arrived in Istanbul Wednesday to continue his five-day official visit in Turkey.

Zhu flew in from Ankara, where he held meetings with Turkish Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit and Acting President and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly Omer Izgi, and other Turkish officials.

Turkey is the first leg of Zhu's three-nation tour, which will also take him to Egypt and Kenya.
