Bamboo shoot is a common winter vegetable in southern China. It is valuable for its full flavor and special curative properties. The vegetable has cold properties that can clear away internal heat and phlegm, moisture the intestines and help relax the bowels.

The following are methods for preparing bamboo to cure disease.

Bamboo shoots porridge

Prepare 50 grams of fresh bamboo shoots, 50 grams of pork mash and 100 grams of sticky rice. Cook the rice into a porridge and add some salt, onion leaves and sesame oil to taste. The porridge is helpful to cure cough and fever.

Bamboo shoots and crucian soup

Cook 250 grams of crucian with 50 grams of fresh bamboo shoots in a soup. Drink the soup and eat the fish, which can help urination, ease thirst caused by measles or chicken pox.

Bamboo shoots drink

Remove the outer skin of the bamboo shoots and boil in water, then just drink as tea. This daily drink can reduce cholesterin in blood, helping to reduce weight and cure high blood pressure.
