Chinese Girl Makes Clay Sculpture for Milutinovic

A Chinese girl, Wang Meihui, made a clay sculpture for her soccer idol Yugoslavian Bora Miludinovic, head coach of the Chinese men's national soccer team.

The 14-year-old, who is at the third year of the 12th Middle School in Anshan, Liaoning province, hope she could give the clay figurine to Miludinovic as a present.

"Milu (nickname by the Chinese fans for Miludinovic) is my adoring figure because he leads the Chinese team into the 2002 World Cup finals. He is a hero," Wang said. "I wish I could give the clay figurine to him by myself."

Wang said she was inspired by a program on TV that someone made a relievo for world soccer famer Pele of Brazil.

Miludinovic, who had led four different national teams into four respective World Cup finals, was worshiped by Chinese soccer fans as he took China into the World Cup for the first time in 2001.
