Zhejiang Extends School Education

East China's Zhejiang Province is working hard to popularize both three-year pre-school education and senior high school education.

The national standard for compulsory education is nine years. The provincial education department says children should now attend school for 15 years, from three years of age to 18.

The rule also applies to the kids of migrant workers in the province.

One hundred percent of Zhejiang's children now have access to nine years of compulsory education, but preschool education and senior high school education have fail to develop well in the province.
