China Gives Aid to Poor Students

The Ministry of Education has allocated 700 million Yuan, or about US$84 million to help poor college students.

The money will give each poor student a four yuan, or half a dollar daily food allowance for one year.

All colleges and universities in China have been required to set aside ten percent of tuition fees they received to help poor students for the last five years.
