Contest Brings Together Top Chinese Acrobats

After six-days of intense competition, the Golden Lion Sixth National Acrobatics Contest has finally drawn its curtain in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province. Nine award-winning programs were part of an acrobatic gala taken in by 7,000 audiences, reported CCTV.com.

More than 40 teams from around the country took part in this year's contest, where over a thousand acrobats brought their best acts to dazzle audiences over the National Day holiday. Sunshine Girls from the Guangzhou Acrobatic troupe, the Xinjiang Acrobatic troupe's Dawazi and 23 other programs all won prizes.

This year's competition proved to be wonderful entertainment, with performers impressing spectators with their versatility in a wide range of feats.

Widely regarded as "China's Acrobatic Olympics", the competition is the largest of its kind in China, and is held every four years.
