Exit-Entry Administration of the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau (EEA), has launched a new port visa application web system, aiming to provide a more convenient service for foreign investors.

The scope of applying for port visa has been extended to most enterprises under the jurisdiction of Shanghai. 

Chinese enterprises inviting foreigners to Shanghai for urgent businesses won't need to apply for their foreign clients in EEA, they can now depend on the faster access of the network.

They can register in the application system at www.shanghai.gov.cn, download a permission form, stamp it and send it to the foreign clients. Foreigners can then apply for a visa when they have arrived in China.

Applicants should come from countries which have established formal relations with China.

Shanghai municipal government is also making easier residence issues for high ranked elite foreigners.
