Miss Tanzania to Get Big Award Plus Trip to China

The beauty queen of Tanzania this year will not only get awards both in cash and in kind but also win a trip to China where the Miss World 2005 will be held again in the Asian country.

Hashim Lundenga, director of the Lino International Agency and coordinator and organizer of the Miss Tanzania beauty contest, has announced that this year's Miss Tanzania will get a fully-furnished house, a car worth no less than US$5,000, a cash jackpot of 2,000 dollars as well as a trip to a Chinese city, yet to be announced as the host of this year's Miss World beauty pageant.

The grand finale of this year's Miss Tanzania beauty contest will be held in August in Dar es Salaam after beauty queens from Tanzania's 26 province-like regions have been selected.

Faraja Kotta is the reigning Miss Tanzania.

Lundenga said that his firm had just received a fax message from the organizers of the Miss World event announcing China as the host for a third time in a row.

"They are yet to declare the city that will host the event," added Lundenga.

The previous two Miss World events were held both at Sanya in China's southernmost Hainan Province.
