Chengdu Adults Getting Shorter, Fatter

A survey showed that adults in Chengdu of Sichuan Province have grown heavier and shorter in the past five years.

The survey found that the average height of adult men and women in Chengdu has dropped from 170.4 centimeters and 158.2 centimeters to 166.7 centimeters and 154.5 centimeters respectively.

Both men and women are growing outwards. The average weight of women has increased by at least 7 kilograms since 2000. Asking 3,000 people between the age of 30 and 69, the survey will publish its final results next year, Chengdu Business News reports.
