Campaign Against Black Cabs to Expand

The Shanghai municipal government will strengthen its campaign against unlicensed minibuses and taxis during the second half of this year.

Shanghai is planning four measures aimed at improving the management of the taxi industry in the future.

These steps include stabilizing the taxi market by minimizing the influence of rising petrol prices.

A subdistrict government office kicked off the new campaign at local commercial centers. Officials said touts were seen gathering at the Dayu Long Distance Bus Station and persuading passengers to take unlicensed buses or taxis.
