Students' Company Cashes in on Campus

Five undergraduates in Shanghai's Fudan University impressed everyone by setting up a start-up on campus which is making high profits and undergoing steady growth.

According to the head of the company, the idea originated one year ago when the five were still in their first year. They realized there was great market potential in copying class notes for the hundreds of thousands of students in Fudan: not all students go to the classes but they all want copies of the notes to prepare for their exams.

The company started by copying class notes using photocopiers in nearby shops; later, when they has earned enough money, they bought their own photocopying machines and began to expand their business into designing and publishing books of class notes.

And the five students were able to undertake the work without dropped out of the university: they did all of the business in their spare time.

Only one year later, the company's capital has grown almost 20 times while its staff has increased 40 times.

At the moment they are busy preparing publishing books for Fudan's 100th anniversary.
