Many Office Workers Have Second Job

A large number of white-collar workers in Shanghai have additional part-time jobs, although moonlighting is forbidden by most local companies.

This is suggested in a recent survey by a headhunting company.

Shanghai Daily says 51job.com.has surveyed about 2, 000 office workers over the Internet about their attitudes towards moonlighting.

About 66 percent of those surveyed said that they do additional part-time work.

Most of the moonlighters said that they spend about five to 10 hours a week, or one or two hours a day, on the extra work.

An analyst at 51job.com says people have abandoned the idea that they should be devoted to a single job throughout their careers and have begun to seek more outside opportunities.
