Tianjin Welcomes 260 Foreign Sons-in-law

Marriage with foreigners has become more and more popular in Tianjin Municipality in recent years. It is reported that a total of 260 foreign men have married to their Chinese wives' family in the city.

Nowadays, many youths work in foreign-funded enterprises and are also associated with their foreign colleagues. The good command of foreign languages by Chinese employees makes communication easier.

Furthermore, well known for their bold and uninhibited characters, many western men captured the heart of Chinese girls quickly. As for those foreign students, by gaining an advantage of studying and communicating with Chinese students all day long, they have developed attachment for them.

Statistics filed by the civil affairs department in Tianjin shows that totally 300 foreigners have registered for marriage in the city, including 260 cases registered by the husbands' side. According to the new regulation on marriage registration, for those who marry foreigners in the Chinese mainland, both husband and wife should go through formalities for marriage registration in the registered permanent residence. So far, 260 foreign sons-in-laws have settled down in Tianjin.
