Nose & Tongue Piercing Become New Fashions

A shop famous for body piercing located in Shanghai's Huaihaizhong Road enjoyed a flourishing business as many people, most of whom are the young in their twenties, flock to the shop to have their bodies pierced.

To get piercing on body parts other than ears, particularly certain unusual parts, and wear a few spikes has become a way to show off one's individuality. When asked about the reason why they are so interested in body piercing, these young people gave the surprising answer that the more pain they feel, the more excited they become. In addition, they believe numerous body piercings can relieve their pressure.

The shop owner said that he receives about 30 to 40 customers every day and most of them prefer to have a special body part pierced. Belly button, brow bone, nose and even breasts are regarded ideal places for wearing spikes.

Runrun, aged about 23, explained his reason for body piercing this way, "Sometimes pain is also a type of feeling. The sharper the pain, the more excited I will be."

According to relevant experts, it is inadvisable to get body pierced in pursuit of excitement, not to mention hidden problems in terms of sanitation and safety. Such behaviors can also cause negative impact on the physical and psychological health of young people. Many of them feel regretful for what they did afterwards but can find no ways to eradicate what they have done.
