5th Cured Human Case of Bird Flu Discharged from Hospital

A 26-year-old woman of East China's Anhui Province, who was diagnosed human case of bird flu one month ago, was discharged from hospital on Thursday after recovery.

The villager of Jitai Village of Yingshang County, surnamed Wang, developed fever and pneumonia symptoms on February 11. Wang's samples tested H5N1 positive by both the national and provincial centers for disease control.

The Ministry of Health announced Wang as a human case of bird flu on February 25.

Wang was admitted into the No. 2 People's Hospital of Fuyang City on February 18. She is now fully recovered, local hospital source said.
