Beginning Friday, citizens of south China's Guangdong Province will gradually be able to handle various social affairs in a more convenient way.
In Foshan City on Thursday, the province debuted its first card which can facilitate citizens in handling affairs such as employment, social insurance, social assistance and pension in an electronic and intelligent way.
The card is a significant part of a citizen card project expected to involve handling insurance including endowment, medical care, unemployment and employment injuries.
Experts consider the card as worthy of nationwide popularization and as helpful in building a government that is efficient, able and just.
