Beijing to Terminate Grand Recruitment Fairs

Grand recruitment fairs for graduates in Beijing will soon be a thing of the past due to the inefficiency in communication between employers and graduates.

Students are encouraged to apply for jobs online. The Ministry of Education has also urged institutes of higher learning to open dedicated websites for recruitment information.

In Beijing, colleges are increasing the number of daily recruitment fairs.

Grand recruitment fairs generally have up to around 1,000 employer companies and 50,000-60,000 graduates attending.

They are usually inefficient since small spaces and the large number of people limits effective communication between employer companies and graduates.

There will be 130,000 graduates in Beijing, 26% more than last year. The graduates still face an even more difficult employment situation.
