Beijing Light Rail of 'Batong' Line to Be On Track

Beijing rural light rail will be on track Saturday 27th December, with the commemorative stamp issued.

The light rail connecting downtown Beijing and the city's Tongzhou District to the east will set off tomorrow (Saturday), one day earlier than the plan. A commemorative stamp is being issued to mark the launch.

The regular schedule for the new line is from 5:22 am to 10:40 pm. Each shift comes in every ten minutes. The temporary price of tickets for the new line is 3 yuan but passengers will have to pay 5 yuan for tickets which allow transfers to the two current subway lines.

Stamp collectors will be able to buy limited-edition commemorative stamps and souvenir badges in 13 stations on the new light rail route.
