A recent online survey shows that most Beijingers would prefer to spend the upcoming holidays going out rather than staying home.

Among the people sampled, over a half will travel, and more than one fifth will go shopping.

Travel agencies are busy preparing popular travel routes to overseas, domestic and even suburban destinations.

Shopping malls meanwhile plan to attract citizens by prolonging business hours and offering festive discounts.
