More Shanghai Couples Adopt Simple Procedure to Divorce

Now, just 10 Yuan and around half of hour is all you need to get a divorce in Shanghai.

This new simple process is suitable for couples that want to divorce amicably and quickly.

Newspaper reports say that two thirds of all divorcing couples in Shanghai are using this new method. They say it saves time and energy, and more couples are expected to choose a quickie divorce in the future.

To get a divorce now, both sides only have to show their residential booklet, ID card and marriage certificate.

Before, they had to show their workplace and neighborhood committee certificates as well.

The alternative to a quickie divorce is a lawsuit, which is expensive and time-consuming.
