Bjork heralds city music feast
Adjust font size:

Bjork, the eccentric Icelandic pop star, is to perform in Shanghai as part of her current world tour.

The city hosts her only appearance in the Chinese mainland on the tour to promote her new album, "Volta."

The concert is on March 2 at the Shanghai International Gymnastic Center in Changning District. Tickets, from 300 yuan (US$41) to 1,600 yuan, are on sale now from 404-707-9999 or at www.emma.cn.

Local organizer Emma Entertainment says it expects the concert to sell out quickly.

Also appearing at the venue are American jazz singer Harry Connick Jr (March 9) and the multi-platinum selling, California-based rock band Maroon 5 (March 22).

It will be Connick's second appearance in China's mainland. He visited the country in 1995.

The chart-topping Maroon 5, however, will be making their China debut.

Tickets for both concerts are available from 404-707-9999 or at www.emma.cn.

Meanwhile, Incubus, the Californian alternative rock band, will play the 1,600-seat Yunfeng Theater on Beijing Road W. on March 13.

Tickets, priced between 400 yuan and 600 yuan, are on sale at 6289-3919 or at www.cwest.cn.
