Macao issues commemorative coins for the Year of Rat

The Monetary Authority of Macao announced Tuesday that the Special Administrative Region will issue a set of commemorative coins to mark the Year of Rat by the Chinese lunar calendar.

Xinhua News Agency reported that the coins, composed of three items, are in 20, 100, 250 Patacas, respectively.

Featuring the outline of a rat in the front and the A-Ma Temple in the back, the coins are the same in pattern but different in theme color.

The coins will go on public sale on January 21, 2008.
