Great Wall Pass to Be Renovated

Central China's Shanxi Province has decided to renovate the Great Wall's Pingxingguan Pass build in 1551.

The pass is well known in contemporary Chinese history, as the site of 1939 battle at Pingxingguan pass where 1,000 soldiers of Japanese elite troops were killed and ambushed by the Eighth Route Army led by the Chinese Communist Party during the War of Resistance Against Japan.

Shanxi Province's historical preservation department announced the pass will renovate with the addition of a stele.
