The first China Seafood Gourmet Festival will be held from Oct.16-22 in Ningbo, a port city in east China's Zhejiang Province, www.cnzj.org.cn reported on Monday.

The seafood gourmet festival, scheduled to be held between the Fifth international Garment Festival and the Tenth China Golden Rooster and Thousand Flowers Film Festival, will be jointly sponsored by Ningbo Municipal Government, China Cooking Association and China Tourism Association.

The festival is believed to be the first national food gala featuring seafood in the new century.

Food-related companies from coastal cities such as HK, Shanghai, Guangzhou, shenzhen, Qingdao and Dalianare expected to be invited to display and sell their special seafood and exchange their experiences in seafood cooking techniques..
