This is China's first gold medal at the opening event of the World Cup season, which commenced on Friday.

Winter Olympic champion Wang skated to the lead after the whistle, finishing with a time of one minute 34.897 seconds. Wang's two feisty Korean counterparts tried many times to catch her but in vain.

Jung Eun-Ju of South Korea came second with one minute 34.974 seconds.
