Int'l TV Week Opens in Chinese Capital


The 2002 Beijing International TV Week opened in Beijing on Thursday. It will last for four days.

Over 200 domestic TV stations, studios and distributors as well as foreign companies and individuals from nearly 20 countries are attending the event, with 34 percent of the company-based participants from Beijing.

The TV week is co-sponsored by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the municipal government of Beijing, with the assistance of the Beijing Radio, Film and Television Group.

Four forums will be held for experts to air their views on management, advertising, editing and broadcasting, and TV documentaries.

On Thursday evening, event organizers will stage "The 5th National Top 10 TV Producers Election and Awards Party" at the Beijing Exhibition Hall theater.
