Southern Airlines Begins Service Between China and Australia

China Southern Airlines, the largest airline in The People's Republic of China, will begin Boeing 777 service from Guangzhou, China to Sydney and Melbourne starting today.

China's largest airline will begin twice weekly service from Guangzhou to Melbourne with continuing service to Sydney every Wednesday and Sunday. In addition, China Southern Airlines will offer one direct flight every Saturday from Guangzhou to Sydney.

"This new service marks another bold step in China Southern's continued expansion in the global aviation community," said Wang Chang Shun, president, China Southern Airlines.

From its transportation hub at Baiyun International Airport, China Southern operates more than 270 domestic routes -- the most extensive network in China -- while providing convenient connections throughout Southeast Asia, Europe, the United States and, now, Australia.

On its new China/Australia service, China Southern Airlines is pleased to feature the Boeing 777, the most state-of-the-art aircraft in the world.
