Anita Mui Will Not Quit Zhang Yimou's New Film

Rumours abound that Hong Kong artist Anita Mui, who is suffering from cancer, is to leave the cast of Zhang Yimou's latest action film. However, the production company says this will not happen as long as the actress' health condition permits her to continue.

The director has also expressed his respect for Anita Mui's strong will in fighting the disease and is confident that she can beat it.

Meanwhile, mainland actress Xu Jinglei is bringing her debut film "Me and Dad" to the Taiwan Golden Horse Film Festival which kicks off in December.

The film was both written and directed by the young actress who gained her fame by playing a series of spicy TV dramas. Well-known Chinese actor Jiang Wen and director Zhang Yuan also play supporting roles in the film.
