Zhang Ziyi's House of Flying Daggers has been nominated in the Best Foreign Film category for the 77th Academy Awards.

The multi-award winning actress will also attend this year's Golden Globe Awards, which has forced her to delay the release of her film Jasmine Women.

Zhang Ziyi is growing in popularity in the US through box office success of Daggers and the martial arts epic Hero.

She is also hard at work on the drama Memoirs of a Geisha with Hollywood heavyweight producer Steven Spielberg.

The star will appear on the red carpet alone, as the film's director Zhang Yimou will be busy with his new film Qian Li Zou Dan Ji in Mandarin.
