Hong Kong actress Huang Shengyi will continue to star in the sequel to Stephen Chow's blockbuster Kung Fu Hustle which starts shooting later this year.

Actor-director Chow praised her leading performance in the first movie at a gathering in Shanghai.

Kung Fu Hustle so far has taken a record US$18.7 million at box offices across the Chinese mainland, surpassing Zhang Yimou's House of Flying Daggers, which has raked in some US$18 million.
