Chinese national player Fan Zhiyi lifts his trophy after being named the "Asian Player of the Year 2001" by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), at an awards ceremony in Shanghai May 17, 2002. Fan, who is currently on loan to Shanghai Zhongyuan from Scottish side Dundee, was named AFC Player of the Year 2001 for the key role he played in China's first ever World Cup qualification.
