Liu Xiaoqing and Jiang Wen Join Hands Again on TV Screen

After their first cooperation more than 15 years ago, Chinese veteran actor Jiang Wen and the former movie star Liu Xiaoqing, who was just released on bail from prison charged of tax evasion, will join hands again on a TV series.

The two artists starred in the 1986 movie Hibiscus Town, or Furong Zhen in Chinese, by veteran director Xie Jin. The movie won them best actor and best actress at that year's Baihua Film Awards.

This time, the two stars will play the lead in an historical TV drama. Liu Xiaoqing plays an ancient Chinese empress. It will be her third production after being released on bail this August.

By working with one of China's best actors, the actress says she hopes to push her acting career to a higher level.
