Shantou to Host Food, Commodities Fair

Shantou, one of China's five special economic zones, will host an international food fair on November 15-19.

According to local sources, the fair, the third of its kind, will have 400 business booths where foodstuffs, beverages and related processing machinery will be traded.

It will be jointly sponsored by the city government of Shantou, Guangdong Provincial Government, and Hong Kong Food Chamber of Commerce.

In a related development, another national commodities exhibition will also be held from September 29 to October 3.

There will be more than 600 booths showcasing famous brands of commodities made in China, including home appliances, garments and handicrafts.

The exhibition will be sponsored by Shantou City Government and All-China Commercial Information Center.
