China's Holiday Tourism Market Maturing: Experts

An official with the National Tourism Administration said here Tuesday that China's holiday tourism market will be show signs that it is maturing during the upcoming National Day holiday.

Influenced by the recent summer traveling peak and the idea of paid holidays, some Chinese will choose to avoid the busy traveling week. The various local festive celebrations will attract travelers as well as dwellers.

As the rate of car ownership has increased, more people than before will choose to drive to rural scenic spots rather than follow the tourist trails.

Experts said that as people experience three week-long holidays a year, they will become more rational in their spending, thus causing the tourism market to mature.
