China to Hold Tourism Festival on Water-Eroded Caves

A tourism festival featuring tourist-friendly karst caves will be held from November 6-8 in east China's Fujian Province, together with the 10th national working conference on water-eroded caves.

As China's first tourism festival with karst caves as its theme, the festival is expected to attract nearly 1,000 participants, who at the working conference will discuss the development of water- eroded caves for tourism and the utilization of natural resources.

China has opened over 100 water-eroded caves to tourists, over 40 of which have become well-known tourist attractions.

The water-eroded cave in west part of Fujian Province covers 54, 000 square meters. The festival is co-sponsored by a magazine on tourism, the Fujian Provincial Tourism Bureau, and Longyan People's Government.
