KFC Opens 70th Outlet in Beijing

The world-famous Kentucky FriedChicken (KFC) Corporation has signaled its dominating position in the Beijing fast-food market with the recent opening of its 70th outlet in the Chinese capital.

Since 1987, when KFC set up its first restuarant in Beijing, ithas received 192 million customer visits.

In 1999 and 2000, KFC opened up 12 and 18 outlets, respectively,and so far this year, another 19 have been set up.

It is learned that KFC has established altogether 520 outlets in 130 Chinese cities throughout the country, 99 percent of which are profitable.
